The 10 Skin Commandments

Dear Lilies,

Here is some fruit of thoughts about our skin routine.  We need to take care of it and try to make it neat and clean and follow some tips to make it healthy.

The 10 Skin Commandments

As the largest organ of your body, your skin is a great indicator of your general health. Follow these 10 simple tips to keep your skin looking and feeling great even if you are living life to the extreme….

1.      Always use sun protection

UV damage leads to wrinkles and irreversible skin damage. Staying out of the sun and using a product with high SPF is crucial to help keep you looking young, radiant and glowing for years to come.

2.      Drink lots of water

Yes you’ve heard it a thousand times before, but for a very good reason – drinking at least eight glasses (or two litres) a day, will keep skin hydrated and help flush out toxins.

3.      Eat a balanced diet.

Ditch the chocolate and feast on fruit and vegetables to keep skin fresh and glowing. Other skin boosters include oily fish, eggs and nuts.

4.      Get exercising.

Whether you take up pole dancing or join the Ramblers Society, just get moving! It will improve your skin by getting your blood pumping and flushing out toxins.

5.      Try body brushing.

Body brushing boosts circulation as well as exfoliating, leaving smooth and glowing skin.

6.      Moisturise everyday to keep it soft and supple.

Adding a few minutes to your morning routine to apply moisturiser after a bath or shower can help to keep skin soft and supple.

7.      Stop smoking.

Smoking is a huge skin sin. It reduces oxygen and blood supply to the skin, reduces the efficiency with which skin rebuilds itself and causes premature ageing and wrinkles. The best thing you can do for your skin is stub it out – for good!

8.      Drink in moderation.

The odd glass of wine won’t do too much harm but alcohol dehydrates your body and your skin, and can also cause redness of the skin or make it appear blotchy.

9.      Make sure you get your beauty sleep.

Missing out on those all important eight hours can lead to dull, blotchy skin and bags under your eyes. A great excuse for an early night!

10.  Protect against pollution.

Pollution and air conditioning can leave skin as dull and lifeless as a Monday morning. Cleanse thoroughly to clear away dirt and use a weekly face mask to keep your skin glowing.
